Regional parks: Paulette's selection for a cycling trip

Are you looking for a place to go for a good bike ride on quiet, marked paths close to nature? We offer you a selection of regional parks that are ideal for cycling, thanks to the numerous cycle paths that have been developed.

Along the Nantes-Brest Canal

The Armorique Regional Nature Park.

In the heart of Finistère, the park, with its four territories, offers a preserved nature of exceptional diversity. The islands of the Iroise Sea, which border the western coast of Brittany, and the Crozon peninsula opposite Brest offer breathtaking panoramas of a wild coastline. But the Armorique Regional Nature Park also includes the Brest harbour, the Aulne estuary and the Arrée mountains. This large and diverse territory is ideal for mountain biking, whether along the cliffs of the Crozon peninsula, in the heart of the Aulne Valley or on the slopes of the Arrée Mountains, thanks to the three mountain bike bases within the park and the many marked trails.

Along the Loire

The Loire-Anjou-Touraine Regional Nature Park.

Covering 116 municipalities in Maine-et-Loire and Indre-et-Loire, the park offers you a total immersion in a natural, cultural and historical heritage. Discover a well-developed biodiversity (more than 200 species of birds have been recorded), varied landscapes between vineyards, valleys and meadows, and of course remarkable architecture represented by the small towns and the unmissable châteaux! Enjoy a bike ride within the park for a total disconnection. Ride through the Indre valley, discover the Loire landscapes, choose one of the circuits proposed by the park and let yourself be carried away, it's time to enjoy. ou can find the different routes here.

In Gironde

The Landes de Gascogne Regional Park.

Located in the south of the Gironde, go for a walk in this park with pine forests shading your path, on which there are rows of trees as far as the eye can see, sheltering numerous animals. You will meet a wide variety of birds (owls, robins, jays...) and you may be lucky enough to spot some deer. The park has a number of signposted cycling routes. Enjoy a quiet ride, punctuated by the cracking of the pine needles on the bicycle tyres and the scent of the pines, mixed with the iodine of the Bay of Biscay.

Along the Vélodyssée

The Marais Poitevin Regional Park.

Near La Rochelle, discover this magnificent park with marshes suitable for boat trips. Let yourself be carried along by the water and the many canals, and enjoy a timeless walk in a calm and relaxing place. You will come across small stone houses housing artists and their work (paintings, jewellery, etc.). If you prefer to stay on dry land, discover the Marais Poitevin by bike thanks to 850 kilometres of cycle tracks offering flat routes accessible to all. Set off on little frequented paths offering you calm and serenity but very well marked to avoid you getting lost.  You can find the different routes here

Not far from the Canal du Midi

The Narbonnaise en Méditerranée Regional Nature Park.

Venture into the Narbonnaise en Méditerranée Regional Nature Park. Within it, the Massif de la Clape has an important network of mountain bike circuits which will allow you to discover the Aude coastline from its summit thanks to different panoramas. Between vineyards, wooded valleys, garrigues, gorges and cliffs, enjoy an exceptional preserved natural setting. Various signposted circuits are waiting for you, which, depending on the number of kilometres and the different levels of gradient, are suitable for everyone. But the Narbonnaise Regional Nature Park is not limited to the Massif de la Clape! Other mountain bike circuits are marked out and accessible.
