Day 1

40 km

Uncover Paris’s Hidden Treasures on a City Escape by Bike

Start at Paulette’s agency, 115 rue Brancion (Paris 15th). Ride across the south of the city to reach Avenue Daumesnil, the beginning of the Coulée Verte René-Dumont. This former railway line, now a planted path, guides you through tree-lined footbridges, leafy tunnels, and secret views over Parisian rooftops.

Cycle on to the Bois de Vincennes, a vast green haven in eastern Paris. Meander around the château, then follow tree-shaded bike paths to the peaceful reflections of Lake Daumesnil.

Continue toward Lake des Minimes, where walkers, herons, and early joggers cross your path in a scene that feels blissfully out of time.

Pause at the Parc Floral or relax at a lakeside kiosk. If you’re lucky, catch a horse race at the nearby Vincennes Hippodrome—a unique moment just off your route. For the return, follow the bike lanes through Charenton-le-Pont, then gently loop back up toward the Maréchaux.

Finish your ride at Porte de Vanves, returning your bike to Paulette with woodland scents still in the air, dappled sunlight in your memory, and the quiet joy of a two-wheeled city escape.
