THE MOST BEAUTIFUL CITIES TO VISIT FROM NANTES BY BIKE

THE MOST BEAUTIFUL CITIES TO VISIT FROM NANTES BY BIKE

From Nantes train station, you can easily rent a bike for a day or a few days and go for a ride outside the city of Nantes !

Paulette gives you some ideas of where to go by bike!

TRENTEMOULT

Trentemoult is an old fishing village, not far from Nantes, known for its colourful houses. You can reach it by bike in a few strokes of the pedal.

The many colours that enliven the village will give you a change of scene in no time! Take the time to walk or cycle through the narrow streets and along the quays. Take a short break to leave your bikes and enjoy a drink or lunch with a view of the Loire.

PORNIC

The town of Pornic is a must-see on the Côte de Jade. You can choose to put your bikes on the train, 1 hour from Nantes station, or cycle to the town, in which case it takes about 4 hours cycling inland or 7 hours via the Loire and the Atlantic coast.

Once you arrive, use your bikes to ride along the seaside and discover all the beaches and small creeks of the area thanks to the coastal path!

Take the opportunity to visit the town of Pornic with its beautiful seaside castle, you won't regret it!

PORNICHET

In less than an hour by train from Nantes station, you can reach the pretty town of Pornichet, also on the coast but this time further north. There are two cycling options: you can choose to take the customs path which will take you to Saint-Nazaire, a 13km ride, or you can choose to visit the pretty streets of the town more leisurely and cycle along the surrounding beaches. Don't miss the opportunity to visit the two harbours of the town!

LA BAULE

Another idea for a trip less than an hour from Nantes by train! The famous seaside resort of La Baule-Escoublac offers you no less than 9 kilometres of cycle path along the Atlantic Ocean. Cycle along this bay before returning to the centre of the town to see the sumptuous villas. If you wish, you can also cycle along the peninsula to Le Croisic. The further you cycle, the more beautiful the view of the peninsula becomes!

The more courageous can also take advantage of a stay or a visit to La Baule to visit Guérande and its famous salt marshes. It takes about 50 minutes to cycle to Guérande from La Baule.

Venture out on a bike ride to discover the marshes (make sure you pedal on the marked paths), then return to visit the pretty medieval town.
