Ah the Vélodyssée, the mythical cycle route linking Roscoff to Hendaye. Its 1,200 kilometres attract many cyclists who come every year to discover or rediscover France. From Pontivy to Redon in Brittany, from Sables-d'Olonne to La Rochelle, from Arcachon to Bayonne... the possibilities are numerous! So which portion will you do? Would you like to embark on an unforgettable journey and even do the whole of the Vélodyssée? Even if it is difficult to know exactly how long it will take, how many kilometres you will manage to cover each day, and what the weather will be like, it is better to get organised. Here are some addresses that might be useful:
The Vélodyssée website is the reference site that allows you to see the different stages of the journey, the points of interest to discover on your route and also testimonials from travellers who have done the route. https://www.lavelodyssee.com/
The France Vélo Tourisme website will also guide you along your route, whether you do all or part of the 1200 kilometres of road along the Atlantic coast. The site also lists all the accommodation (among others) where you can park your bike safely.
The Routard, of course, always gives good advice!
The websites of the tourist offices or regional sites along the route to help you on your journey
And blogs that collect testimonies from travellers on the Vélodyssée
